Asia Pacific Youth Internet Governance Forum (yIGF.Asia) is an annual meeting and open platform, recognized by the United Nations Internet Governance Forum (IGF), to empower young leaders aged between 18 and 35 to participate in Internet governance discussions. The forum was first initiated by NetMission.Asia in 2010 and continues to be held annually in conjunction with the Asia Pacific Regional Internet Governance Forum (APrIGF).

This year, yIGF.Asia 2026 will take place as a two-day hybrid event from Oct 3 to Oct 4, 2026. Bringing together young leaders, policymakers, technical experts, civil society representatives, and other Internet governance stakeholders from across the Asia-Pacific region, the forum will provide a platform for dialogue, learning, and collaboration on the future of the digital ecosystem.

Under the theme “From Users to Stakeholders: Youth Shaping Resilient and Rights-Based Digital Futures,” yIGF 2026 highlights the evolving role of youth in shaping the Internet and digital governance processes. As digital technologies continue to transform societies and economies, young people are increasingly impacted by decisions related to digital rights, online safety, artificial intelligence, and digital inclusion, yet their voices remain underrepresented in many decision-making spaces.

Aligned with regional discussions on strengthening Internet resilience, yIGF 2026 will provide a platform for youth to explore how resilience, inclusion, and human rights can be advanced in an evolving digital landscape. Through capacity-building sessions, intergenerational dialogue, and collaborative discussions, participants will engage with issues surrounding AI governance, information integrity, meaningful connectivity, digital inclusion, online safety and crisis preparedness, while exploring how diverse voices can contribute to more inclusive and accountable digital governance.
