Asia Pacific yIGF 2025

The Asia Pacific Youth Internet Governance Forum 2025 concluded on October 11, 2025, with sessions taking place both online and in person at its two hubs in Manila (Philippines) and Islamabad (Pakistan).

The Asia Pacific Youth Internet Governance Forum 2025 (yIGF 2025) concluded successfully on Saturday, October 11, 2025, bringing together over 160 youth participants from across the Asia-Pacific region through a fully virtual event. Local Hubs in Pakistan and the Philippines further enabled youth engagement, contributing to meaningful discussions around digital equity, AI governance, and youth participation in policymaking. We extend our sincere gratitude to the APrIGF Secretariat, our supporting organizations, NetMission.Asia and DotAsia Organisation, local hub partners, and all members of the Organizing Committee and Digital Content & Research Committee for their invaluable support throughout the program.

Building on this year’s theme, “Youth as Co-Governors: Empowering Youth for Digital Equity and Innovation,” participants engaged in a series of interactive sessions, including a Meetup with Industry Experts, the APAC Youth Leaders Dialogue, a live discussion and editing of the APAC Youth WSIS+20 Statement, the IGF 2025 Youth Track Workshop, and a panel discussion on digital rights and youth autonomy.

These sessions emphasized intergenerational collaboration, ethical and inclusive innovation, and structural youth participation in governance, ensuring that youth perspectives were meaningfully incorporated into regional and global policy dialogues.

This year’s Asia Pacific yIGF successfully reinforced youth as co-creators in Internet governance and digital policy. Participants demonstrated a clear commitment to bridging the digital divide, promoting inclusive innovation, and embedding youth participation structurally in governance processes. The outputs of yIGF 2025, particularly the Declaration on Meaningful Youth Participation, provide a roadmap for regional stakeholders, governments, civil society, and the private sector to work alongside youth in shaping a sustainable, equitable, and rights-respecting digital future.

As youth leaders across the Asia-Pacific reflect on this year’s collective work, the Asia Pacific yIGF 2025 Organizing Committee is putting forward a three-point Call to Action shaped directly by the values, priorities, and experiences surfaced during our region-wide engagement for the WSIS+20 process.

- Recognizing youth as co-creators in Internet governance
- Closing the digital divide through equity, diversity, and inclusion
- Fostering responsible, sustainable innovation for future generations

This collective vision and collaborative process send a clear, unified message from the region’s youth: youth are ready, capable, and committed to shaping a more just, inclusive, and sustainable digital future. We are not only as consultees, but as co-creators.

With this Call to Action, Asia Pacific yIGF 2025 Organizing Committee encourages regional stakeholders, policymakers, and the broader Internet governance community to take these youth-driven recommendations forward and deepen collaboration with youth for ongoing dialogues to ensure that our contributions continue to shape the shared digital future.

Lastly, we’d like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all community partners, local hubs, session co-organizers, and the organizing committee for making this event impactful. Special recognition goes to the Head Coordinator, Jenna Manhau Fung (Hong Kong), Co-Chairs Bea Guevarra (Philippines), Dean Mark Molde (Philippines), and Nawal Munir (Pakistan), the Core Team, Local Hub Organizing Teams, Supporting Team, and the Digital Content & Research Committee for their tireless efforts.

Together, we continue to build a space where young voices are amplified, intergenerational collaboration is strengthened, and meaningful youth participation shapes the future of the Internet across the Asia-Pacific region.
