Steering Committee

The formation of the Steering Committee is an outcome proposed in the yIGF 2023 annual meeting in Singapore. It aims to call for a group that consist of at least 5 youth IGF coordinators from the Asia Pacific region to strengthen the connections among the youth community and foster more collaborations.

The structure of the Steering Committee was further explored by the Governance and Policy Committee of the NetMission.Asia and was presented in the yIGF Charter in early 2023. The Organizing Committee of yIGF 2023 adopted the proposal and decided to move forward with the call for a Steering Committee after meeting at the Asia Pacific yIGF in Brisbane in August 2023.

The Steering Committee was first named as "Sub-committee". The group was later renamed as "Steering Committee" in November 2023 after the group was formed by 18 members of different yIGFs or youth initiatives in the Asia Pacific.
